2018 JCATI Symposium

The 2018 JCATI symposium at the Spokane Convention Center featured oustanding aerospace presentations, an exciting student pitch contest and networking opportunities. Keynote speaker David Steitz from NASA provided attendees with an overview of present and future NASA projects, emphasizing the continual need for new technology development. Other featured symposium speakers included James Del Pinto (Zodiac Aerospace), Mark Simon (Exotic Metals), Jean-Michel Hillion (Safran), Dragos Margineantu (Boeing), JD Claridge (xCraft) and Mark Russell (EnergeticX). We continued to highlight JCATI funded research during our student elevator pitch contest, where students explained their JCATI funded project in 2 minutes or less. The discussion was continued during the poster session as awardees from the University of Washington, Washington State University and Western Washington University presented their projects to industry leaders and fellow academics. The poster session also included a JCATI sponsored capstone project by Central Washington University. The symposium talks will be posted in the JCATI video archive as soon as possible.

The 2019 JCATI symposium will be April 11 at the University of Washington Husky Union Building.
