Call for JCATI Board Nominations

The Joint Center for Aerospace Technology Innovation (JCATI) is seeking nominations for three open seats on its Board of Directors, appointed by the Governor’s Office of Boards & Commissions. If you or someone you know is ready to help shape aerospace innovation, workforce development, industry outreach, and R&D investment across Washington State, we want to hear from you.

Open Seats

  • Labor Seat — representing organized labor in Washington’s aerospace industry
  • Industry Seat (Large) — for representatives of aerospace companies with more than 1,500 employees
  • Industry Seat (Small) — for representatives of aerospace companies with fewer than 500 employees

About the Commitment

Board members serve 3-year terms (renewable up to a maximum of 3 terms or 10 years). The Board meets up to four times a year, including Fall (September/October), Winter (January), and a May project-selection session. Members also play an active role in JCATI’s annual Symposium each April — this year’s Symposium, “From Lab to Launch,” takes place April 6, 2027 at the University of Washington HUB. Beyond project selection, Board members are key partners in industry outreach and connections — helping JCATI build relationships across Washington’s aerospace sector and extend our reach through their own networks and communication channels.

How to Apply

Interested candidates apply online through the Washington State Boards & Commissions website (JCATI is listed under the “Aerospace” category) and will need to upload a current resume.

Deadline: September 26 for the next round of appointments.
