Note: the RFP was updated on 1/19/22 to clarify Senior Personnel FTE

JCATI provides short term seed funding via academic collaboration for the Washington State aerospace industry to help transition new technologies. The academic engineering partner receives JCATI funding to adress the technology roadblock while the industry partner provides support necessary for project completion and transition into the company. Projects cover Technology Readiness Levels 4-7 (component and/or field validation, full system prototype testing). Partners must outline a clear transition plan for imminent incorporation. WA aerospace companies of all sizes can take advantage of this opportunity to advance their business.

Proposals must be aerospace related with the impact occurring in Washington State. Aerospace is broadly interpreted and includes but is not limited to: software, AI, aerospace materials (metals, composites, 3D printed), aerospace propulsion and power systems (fuel or electric), air transportation modernization, aerospace cybersecurity, manufacturing and production innovation (robotics, additive manufacturing, augmented/virtual reality),controls and automation, airport ground systems, human-machine interfaces, communication systems, space systems and UAVs.

Industry can contact facuty directly or ask the JCATI Program Manager for help identifying potential academic partners. If you want help, contact the Program Manager no later than January 28, 2022. This allows time to find a match and create a valid proposal.
